I can't thank him enough for that "batch photos" option! Saved me hours AND places much in front so can eliminate as I progress... Great Report system!

Oh John, I have had a Lenovo computer, touchscreen, for 3 years, afraid to take on Inspections... (I have to use a Razer cell phone because it's one the few I can drop, (Off a ladder etc....) and still works.. If I drop the Lenovo...

Just did my second report on this new long template.  Man I love it so far.  I managed to do the report in about 1 1/2 hours.  That's 30 min less than the first report I did with it and half the time of my old template!!!!  AND....AND  I was on the phone for about 15 min of that time!!!!  ;D

Granted this was a new house with very few problems.  But still...

It's a start, right?  Any amount of time we save ourselves is money in the bank...I know I struggle with "micromanaging" myself when writing the reports...last one I was up WAAAAYY too late, about 1 AM, trying to hash it all out and make sure I had everything. 

You'll find a flow to it. 

When I have a well maintained property from new to about 15 years old the reports go quickly.

It is the typical home over 15 years of age, 50-100 photos that takes the 1 1/2- 2 hours +.
Each week I try to edit my template to be user friendly in the field.

But I always seem to be about the same time.  I finish areas that I did not fully complete, usually electrical and structure. Takes 15-30 minutes for photos and 15-30 minutes review.

And I typically arrive 1 hour early to inspections so I can have the exterior inspection and report 90% completed. I always seem to find additional defects when I go over the exterior with the client.

I propably spend 10-15 minutes on my diagram and inserting illustrations for explanation and liability. I may also spend 5-10 minutes researching.

So I'm not too far off the time mark then.  I've just been going over my finances and decided that I will be buying me a computer when I get 6 months of bills saved up in my account.  Decided that is more important than anything right now.  Meanwhile if I can keep my reports to 1.5-2 hours I will be very happy.
