TOPIC: Two New Templates

Re: Two New Templates 14 years 8 months ago #19109

John

I thought I would share my thoughts on your long report.

Test operated good. This is used many times and it sounds like poor grammar.
Test operated spa tub. How about the spa tub operated properly when tested.

How about. Operated properly when tested. Or no deficiencies noted.

I only observed GFCI at exterior. What about garage, kitchen, bathrooms and in the electrical section.

I do a system by system for a few reasons.  All the electrical is in one area. Not scattered through out 35-40 + pages. More friendly for agents, clients, attorneys and contractors,

There are a lot of areas that are repeated.

Like Property Information/Weather conditions.

I would not have it repeated.  Leave description text blank.

There are numerous photos with the same caption as the damage panel. If it is the same do not use any text at photos.

Just my 2 cents.

Dave your right about the grammar but I'm trying to make it short and sweet so it can be easily found and be used on a small computer.

As for the GFCI, go down load the template.  They are in there.  The only reason you see the one for the exterior is because of the age of the house.  They were only required on the exterior at that time.

As for the repeated words, I hadn't noticed that.  I will look into that here in a little bit.

And the damage text and photo text.  I never really thought too much about it.  Now that you bring it up, I think I like the idea of them knowing which text is going to which photo.  I guess you could save some ink you printed them though.

Thanks for pointing that stuff out.

John;
I am from Ny and have a number of different types of reports... I offer what I call "the meat and potatoes" type to contractors, builders, "experienced/handy buyers" and the "fluff filled" report to first-time homebuyers etc. (i.e. those less handy/experienced) The M and P is simple, straight-forward no BS, the other goes into descriptions etc... more photos etc. I LOVE THE IDEA and the kids love the fluff!
Both follow SOP'S... Hope this helps!
Good Luck!

Just use your current tempate and just uncheck in the selection colors and print order in report settings.

Uncheck areas like grounds or exterior, roof.

Now you may need to copy some areas that may be in a scetion that you will not be using like a balcony or deck but this is very simple.

By the way I gave you your first Karma!!

Steve, just as David said. It's best to use your normal template and uncheck the pages you aren't using. That way any new narratives will be available for both types of reports.
