TOPIC: Which Template

Which Template 13 years 6 months ago #36195

I'd like to suggest some thing. I find it just a little hard to tell which template is open when in the program. I'm new to working with HIP so maybe I've missed it but it would be nice if the "current template" or "active template" was indicated some where like in a status bar or on a tab or some such.

If you open the program and click Open Template it's name is listed on the very top program bar. If you've opened a saved inspection you're no longer working with an existing template and the inspection filename is listed instead. Every inspection has a copy of the template from the day you started the inspection saved within it. So if you open a job from a year it, it uses the template you used that day, so it doesn't coincide with any of today's templates.

So if I click on open template which ever one is listed first is the one i'm working with? That's easy enough. For saved reports it hasn't really come up yet. Mostly to make sure I'm starting in the write one. thanks

If you click Open Template and select a template to work with, that's the one you're working with. If you just open the program up, the program opens whichever template you've set to the default (by default this is called Default!). The name will show at the top of the program after Home Inspector Pro as soon as you go in. You'll also notice that if you click Open or Save template that one of the templates will have a check box on the bottom right for 'Make this the default template.'
