The latest Mac Java update decided that the left side tabs should run vertically rather than horizontally. You can just make out the tab on the left side of your picture. We've had to update HIP to move the tabs to the top with the Mac now because of this and a release will be out shortly. I complained to Apple and filed a bug report but was told this is how they want their aesthetics to be.
