TOPIC: Default Report

Default Report 14 years 1 week ago #31133

Has anyone made a default report where everything by default is "In general working condition" or what applies to that item?
Then you would only have to change the things that are "Not in general working condition." I do a lot of houses that are 2004 and newer, adding all of the comments takes a lot of time, especially when 90% of the house is fine.
Thanks,
Steve

Yes I just started doing that. I created a report with a generic name and I just keep saving it as a different inspection.

I have been doing this for quite a while also actually. Entering all of the data into a Template takes too much time. Maybe Dominic will see the advantage of this and use it to improve the program.
Thanks,

We actually have it on our to-do list to make it so that this is integrated into a template rather than just a saved inspection. The question is , would you want to have multiple versions of a pre-loaded template?

Dominic,
I have been doing this almost since day 1. Now you may understand some of the questions I threw at you. They were all my trying to do this. Yes, we could use multiple versions of a pre- loaded template, but, my problem is whenever I make a change in the field, it only shows up on that report. I then have to go to my Default Report and update it to keep it up to date. I tried having several Default Reports for different ages of homes but it was too much work to go update all of them. So I just have one Default Report. It has 7BR, 3MBR, 4BA, 4 OFC/BONUS RMS, BONUS AREA, POOL ROOM, STORAGE/SHED, we as you can see it has a lot. I just click on the ones I want for the current report. I have put 100s of hours into this to get it working pretty well, but the program does funny things sometimes when you are saving it 50 times because of the changes and additions being added. That's why I was always sending you the crazy requests to do things the program was not set up to do. It's all good.

Steve, if you hit save template when you are in your inspection, it will update the template you are working in. I found this out by mistake once! ;D You do not have to update the template later.
