TOPIC: Poll: Question of the day/week

Poll: Question of the day/week 13 years 3 months ago #37867

Topic of discussion - Plumbing, water heater, pressure relief extension

Note how you would report on the following pictures. There can be more than one answer.

Q. do you like this format? Can we have a seperate thread called picture of the day/week?

I want report verbiage from inspectors, why an issue, recommendations.

Tank is conventional, gas fuel source, located in basement and there is a floor drain.

Suggestions appreciated!!

Weeping TPR Valve, recommend evaluation by a Plumber.

Improper TPR Piping Material, recommend Evaluation by a Plumber with remedy as necessary.

I see the pipe is rated for use with a TPR valve so I would state.

Water Heater TPR valve leaking Recommend a Licensed and certified Plumber inspect and make any repairs needed .

However since you are trying to be tricky by showing the label on the valve is rated 500,000 btu max and the PVC shows 1000,000 btu max....well? ;D

Actually Bob I was not sure about the BTU ratings of the relief valve. One of the reasons I posted.

Would not the plastic discharge need to be rated for the relief valve.

The water discharging is a no brainer.

I often see plastic piping at the blow tube and often wonder if it is a rated material.

I also liked the question of the day as it helps me learn.

I am not qualified to be the poster and would leave to more qualified inspectors.

I would also encourge new inspectors to answer the posts as it is a good way to learn, no one will be deaming here and if they are Dom will kick your butt!!
