TOPIC: Dry Spell?

Since last Monday I have had 6 calls for inspections. I have lost all 6 of them. I usually get the inspection on the first call about 90% of the time. Is this just a spell that everyone goes through? I am trying to determine what I am doing wrong.

I am not doing anything different than I was doing before. I discuss the property first, I do not give price right away, until I know about the property. I then discuss the inspection process and discuss my free reinspection program and guarantee, also, scheduling, then I give price.

It happens Michael.  I've been getting them lately, it goes like this:

Hi, I need a home inspection tomorrow at 4PM on a 1500'sf house in hometown, USA, What's your price.  I call back and ask, "What's the age, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, is it a raised foundation, are there any other detached structures or out buildings, etc"?  Answer, I DON'T KNOW, Hm...  In that case the inspection is $375.00 and will include only the main structure on a slab foundation system.

Their response is always, "I've called 4 to 5 other inspectors and your the highest".  Now you guys might try to up sell these idiots, but at this juncture in my inspection career, I not only have no interest in working with them, I'm hoping they get screwed to teach them a lesson. 

Tell them to take the $195.00 inspector and call you once the lawsuit begins:)
 

I do not know if I am the highest, they never tell me. They just say let me check a few things (check other inspectors) then I do not hear from them. I have not changed my prices or anything, it is like I hit the wall. Maybe I should call them back and ask them.

I always call them back if I do not here back from them in a couple of days and ask them who they went with and what the price was. If the price was higher ask them why they went with the higher price.
