Has anyone heard of this company? I received this email today.

Good morning,

My name is Rog Pickett with SiteCheck Inspections. We do inspections for insurance companies. We have jobs for both Commercial Insurance (business liability, fire, etc.) and Personal Lines (home owners).

Insurance inspections are fairly simple. The home owner inspections mostly involve driving by the residence, taking two or three photos and answering a few condition questions. The business inspections are mostly interior inspections checking on potential liability and fire risks.

Our fees vary based on type of coverage (more or less questions) and travel distance. The base fee for simple jobs is $25.00. We pay inspectors every Friday for work completed during the week.

We are in final negotiations with a large insurance carrier with nationwide coverage.  We are looking for inspectors in your area with experience in the insurance inspection venue. We also encourage inspectors desiring to expand their services. To some we offer exclusive territories assigning all orders to that inspector.

If you would like to join us, please reply by email with a brief experience résumé.

Have a great day, Rog

I haven't seen anyone else ask about them, but there's quite a few companies out there that do work for insurance companies. Some are obviously better than others.

Hey Scott;

I registered online just to see what would happen.  I received two pdf files, a blank W-9 income tax form and backround release form with enough required information to assume your identity.

I work for HUD, FHA, Department of Defense, Multiple Counties, FEMA, State of California, Multiple Insurance Providers and of course the General Public.  I've never been asked to provide the personal information requested by this company.

I'd be very carefull about giving up your personal and financial information via an unknown website and or company.  Not to mention it pays $25....

I've done a couple of these over the last few years, mostly when it was slow. They paid $35, it doesn't take long, just a few pictures. It is the drive time, gas, and report time that doesn't make it worth it. They promised volume to make up for low price, but I haven't heard back from either one, although they send me newsletters and information constantly.

I won't be doing any more!!

Some of these inspections can be lengthy in your reporting....although just a few pics and a overview of the property, sometimes they will want all aspects of safety violations reported.  I have a few that I work with that have a checklist report....but the narrative request are quite time consuming for the pay.

I accepted a few jobs from them & they're just like all the rest, " it will only take a few minutes of your time" Yeah right, most in my area are at least 40 miles away. I have given up on most of these outfits that harvest our names/numbers from "Find an inspector.com" they always find someone willing to do it like I used to. I'm done with driving around half the day trying to find someone to let me in who had no idea I was coming or why, taking a hundred photos, spending the rest of the day figuring out how to enter the info/pics on their website for $35 or so. More profitable to stay home & watch how miserable the economy is on TV..
Good Luck Scott,

Good Luck
