TOPIC: Syncing reports between computers

Re: Syncing reports between computers 14 years 4 months ago #25652

That is how they did it till 3 years ago,but they switched to pay by the month for about $75 @ that I thought was crazy.

Wonder when they changed back as I made it clear I did not like the new policy and switched to HIP , but would never go back to Horizon as HIP is superior in my view.

The biggest thing I liked was the auto illustration inserts, but that is not needed by me and wonder why I liked less control of the final project.

Joe,

It's really simple. As Bob stated, get a thumbdrive. When you're done on the CTL2go click Save Inspection one last time (after already saving to the CTL2go) and save directly to your thumbdrive. Then put the thumbdrive in your desktop and click Open Inspection and open directly from the thumbdrive. Then you can save it to the computer via Save Inspection. If you have a network person network your CTL2go and your desktop/laptop at home then you can simply drag and drop the files. That's about as simple as it can get and takes seconds.

The template is stored within each inspection file. So you don't need to copy the template from the CTL2go to your other computer, just move the inspection file and click Save Template after doing so on the desktop as well as Save Inspection and you'll be set.

Good point

The template goes with the inspection automatically.

One must remember there is no need to sync templates before moving over the inspection. (makes it fast)

I may be late on this post and it may not completely apply here, but you could try Allway Sync. It's free. You select the folder on your laptop (Home Inspector Pro... Program Files) and then select one on your desktop or network drive. It will keep these two folders synced. I set auto sync to perform every 10 minutes and at logoff.
