TOPIC: HIP 2.8.2 Can't add comments or see added photos.

HIP 2.8.2 Can't add comments or see added photos. 13 years 4 months ago #37561

I was typing up a report tonight (HIP version 2.8.2) and I use the Canadian report type by Doug.  I add photos and type about half of the report, then all of the sudden I can't see any of the added comments or photos.  In fact when I go under a new section and click the add button to add a comment, nothing happens.  If I add more photos, it will act like it is adding pages of pictures but won't display anything in the box.

Got any ideas?

Nick, did you get my email this morning? I'm guessing you have a corrupt file in Java or the program. There was a Java update last night that ran too. Try the tips I emailed you and let me know if it works okay.

I reloaded 2.8.2 and it did not help.  When I tried to load the saved inspection it is showing 0KB.  So I'll try to do the inspection again and see what happens.

If the inspection file was corrupted somehow then reloading won't help. I'd enter in the client info and save the inspection then restart the program and make sure it opens okay. Also, you might want to go to Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs and uninstall all the copies of Java there, then go to Java.com and download the newest. There was a new version released yesterday and most people have this set to auto install. It could have updated while you were working on the report which has caused a problem a few times, or something just could have happened during the update.

If you have Windows 7 you can browse to the computer via Comptuer->C->Program Files (x86)->Home Inspector Pro->Client Data, right click on the inspection file, click Previous Versions and try to restore a previously saved copy of the file.
