Does anyone know where I can purchase a CTL20 in Canada?  From what I've read in the threads, this seems the way to go.  New the industry, I started "the old fashioned way" but hope to update to the 21st century soon.  Your input is appreciated.

How incompatible is Windows 7 with existing programs. I run five or six programs at a time when I'm doing my report. Some of these are old programs and I have no inclination to upgrade every one of them to Windows 7 (if that's necessary).

I was told by a computer rep that was using a tablet in a store I was visiting that Windows 7 professional will run XP compatible programs without any problem.

Is there any problems encountered with running XP on seven?

I upgraded my Vista laptop to Win 7 and it smoked several programs. Not only that, Win 7 uses a different directory structure than XP and Vista so many thing "lost their mind" and had to be re-worked to point to the right place.  Major PITA!  Sorry I did it. Vista sucked but this is worse.

Starting from scratch and installing all the software that will run on 7 is the way to go for sure.  I like it but it has cause me a lot of grief and extra work.
The XP thing is a "virtual machine" implementation. XP runs in a separate discreet process inside Win 7 as I understand it. Unfortunately, my HP laptop is a piece of crap and does not have the power to do it.

I still haven't had a need to run the virtual machine yet except for testing it out. I love you, it's much faster than Vista was (though I didn't have a huge problem with Vista).
