TOPIC: Mobile beta questions

Re: Mobile beta questions 9 years 1 month ago #60598

Hi Dominic....I literally spent hrs last night trying to identity what caused the graying.

*Im using an Iphone 5C with 32gig.
*Pics that I took with my phone were almost always 1/3 to a 1/2 grayed out. Not every pic had the same % grayed out, however, each time the same pic was up loaded, it had the same portion of the pic grayed out
*Pics copied from the internet were usually fine(but not always)
*Changing Default Photo Quality had no effect on graying
*Uploading 1 pic or 10 had not effect on graying

On the attached picture there are 7 thumbnails
#1 is a Rolex from the internet (fine)
#2 is a 67 Chevy from the internet (fine)
(the next 5 were taken with my phone)
#3 is 1/2 grayed - Old farm house
#4 is 1/2 grayed - Pic of computer at Best Buy
#5 me in a snow storm - slight gray at the bottom. The pic is mostly white, and most of the pic is present
#6 me in a snow storm - about 1/4 gray.  The pic also has more trees & street present in the pic
#7 me in a snow storm - over 1/2 gray.  This pic has trees, streets & buildings present in the pic

*When repeating with the same pictures, I get the same % of that picture grayed out.  It's repeatable.
*For the pics I took, It appears that the more information in the pic(possibly a larger file size),the greater the % of graying...as if the more memory a pic uses, the picture is being clipped.
*The top two pics from the internet I'm assuming are a smaller file size, and they upload fine every time

That's the best I've got so far:)

Hmm that's a very good start. Can you send me those exact same pics?

Hi Dominic... I emailed from my iPhone in two emails. Hopefully they went at actual size. It appears the smaller pic files had the least amount of graying

I've experienced the bug on the Merge feature; however, If I do all my "laptop" merging 1st...and THEN merge those results into the mobile download all is OK.  Problems arise if I merge in reverse order

I've had the same graying out of photos, but I haven't had a chance to run any significant tests. The only thing I figured out was that I could load the same photo repeatedly and it would always load the same amount and then the rest would be gray.

But if I crop the original photo even just a hair, it always loads fully. I'm also using an iPhone 5.
