TOPIC: Drop Down Lists

Drop Down Lists 10 years 6 months ago #55342

I have just started really focusing in on using the drop down list. I have entered them into about have of my report template sections. (doing what I can with the time I have).
I conducted an inspection today with HIP Mobile (iPad), selected some call outs which have drop down lists included/embedded, came home, uploaded HIP mobile report to cloud, downloaded to laptop and opened inspection. The call outs I selected (black and red) do not have the drop down list within them any longer...? I figured I would double click on the call out located either in the black or red section and then choose from the drop down list the orientation/room,etc that I set up last week. (left, right, rear left, kitchen, etc,).
I have to delete the comment then bring it back over to the damage selection to be able to select the actual drop down within the list. Basically works fine if I delete and re-select what I took time selecting in the first place in the field.
Am I missing something here?
*Disclaimer: I did save the report and generate it once before trying to select drop down list items. I do this to see how many pages my report is with just the pictures I selected. Did this possibly mess up my first report using drop down lists?

Even the Recall Chek drop downs I set up in the template (exactly like the tutorial) did not carry over when I selected with mobile then uploaded. I have to be doing something wrong ...right? Otherwise I have to ask, why set up a drop down list? I used to just leave a ...(    ) within my template and type in the orientation, bedroom name, electrical panel type, etc.

Travis, the drop downs never carried over to red black before. They always added the actual selected comment once they were selected. We did change this in the latest beta though, 3.6.6. www.homeinspectorpro.com/dmdocuments/HomeInspectorPro-3_6_6.exe

RecallChek issue was a recently created bug and will be fixed in the next update.

Dom, I am using beta 3.6.6 currently. I downloaded on 10/5/2013

I tried to upload the one you just included but it is showing error half way through the upload and asking me to "abort".

I think I understand what you are saying but not sure. When I am on the iPAD HIP mobile, and I select it item that has a drop down box in it...when I upload to cloud and open the report on the laptop, that call out will be located in the call out selection and the drop down box should be there for me to select that actual word or phrase I want selected.

The drop down box is not in the comment any longer when choosing it with the iPAD.

On the laptop I have to remove the comment and then reselect the comment so the drop down box carries over.

If you're using 3.6.6 you should definitely still see the drop down box in the comment. Are you looking at a selection or damage panel? The drop down should still be there on the iPad too but you do need to click the list button again.

I  see the drop down box in the comment while on the laptop and the Ipad. Once I select the comment while on the Ipad and then upload report to cloud, download to the laptop, the call out is in the damage panel (hard or soft) but the drop down box is not there. It is only in the comment section.

...I know I am doing a poor job of explaining myself. Sorry.
