I attached a word document with a proposed logo.
Do you mind having a look and give critique?
Thanks.
The logo itself is a drawing.  The text is inside a text box. If I cut and paste the whole thing into a website, will the text be recognizes as text by search engines?
How do I get rid of the border around the text box?  I don't mind a border around the whole thing but rather not just around the text.

I am not sure what the black and blue lines mean.  I would think the graphic should evoke some kind of reference to something.  I think with some minor tweaking you could make the black lines more roof and house outline like, or Arrow to success like or something?

I remember somewhere someone saying all good/great logos incorporate the company name.  People may eventually associate a shape or graphic with a certain company, (golden arches,  coke bottle, chevy bowtie) but that takes decades of almost unlimited display.  Think more along the lines of Krisy Kreme, Coca Cola, Burger King, Ford.  Drive down the street in your town that is lined  with fast food and lots of chain stores.  Look at the logos.  Usually the company name in some specific font.

Vistaprint.com has a free logo generator.  They have a bank of graphics.  You choose the color and add some text to the side, or top, or bottom.  Once you like it, costs about $35-$50 to download a digital version for your use.    The drawback is it is a bank of graphics but your company name is seperate from the logo.  Think how Burger King text is sandwiched between two buns.  There text and graphic are integrated.

My logo is from Vistaprint.  The blue part can be an arrow or a house siting on a hill.  Either way, it has a positive feel about it.  The house shaped arrow ties back to the Home part of Home Inspection.  I have my logo on shirts, hats, outer wear, business cards, yard signs, and mail advertising.  No universal recognition yet but I catch people reading the embroadery on my clothing all the time.

Bert, you'd need to save the image and load it on your site then add the text under it for it to be readable. Usually people keep their logos as graphics so they can control the look better. Use the rest of your site for SEO.

Thanks Bruce and Dom.

Bruce, the blue and black lines are a benchmark.  Actually the blue line is the benchmark with the black lines forming an arrow to indicate the benchmark but it used to be a common way to mark the benchmark.  I think you may be right that among homeowners, it will be just black and blue lines.  People in the building industry may know what it is but I should be marketing to homeowners.  I may have to come up with something more recognizable.
Thanks.
