ok Jay,

I recently did 2 seller inspection presentations at 2 different offices. One, I had a captive audience for and the other had very few agents. I have had about 10 new agents call asking questions or referring me which I think is awesome. I agree that the power point presentation is not what they want. Everyone was comfortable in the Q&A part of my presentations.

I have just started the FREE seller inspections for a couple of agents and no real return yet.

I agree it is all about building relationships. I made a comment to my wife yesterday about a nearby office that I have been marketing to and realized that I now have most of the agents referring me now after 1.5 years and the ones who wouldnt give me the time of day are also referring me and asking questions. It just took time and not giving up. I have dropped off munchies, business cards, homeowner maintenance books, sat at their desks just talking and the receptionists know me well also. By the way one of my cheerleader agents had a petition signed with 16 agents to get me the time to speak at their agent meeting. WOW...

When you understand people's personality styles you can move the conversation in ways that make them feel comfortable. You guys know the stuff - Outgoing, Introverted , Dominant, Inspirational, Compliant, and Supportive.

Compass question: Are you a "people person" or more task oriented?
Motor question: Are you more outgoing or consider yourself to be introverted.

I received this info from a BNI meeting about a month ago for free. It always helps to refresh your thinking until it sticks.

Well you asked Jay. I normally keep to my self on MB's. Its kind of nice around here at HIP.

Great stuff Scott!  I once heard a great quote - What is the point of being the most educated person in the world if you aren't sharing it!  Good stuff...  keep sharing!  How about a karma smack!

Great job on the persistence it took to get that engagement with the agents!  Something they like a lot is a picture with the "what's wrong with this picture" challenge.  Something that gets them to open up and interact with you.

I once saw a photo on a guy's site of a hot water heater, sitting on the wood floor of a closet, with two fishing rods on one side, and it asked what was wrong with all that.  I wrote back that there were no shot guns on the other side.   Actually the answer was that there was no drip pan, which I sent him in the next email, but it was a funny comment and he had not considered that.  Right answer?  Sure!

Don't be shy on the HIP message board.  It is a great environment.  I don't like the Nachi site - too caustic among all the know-it-alls...  I have never seen so many people rip other people they don't really know.  I got off that site a long time ago.

You might like Carl Brown's site too - yourleakinghouse.com.  Great group there too...

The pics do work. I had my turn at the 10 minute presentation at BNI and it was all about the defect pictures. They loved them. Now at each meeting I show a snippet of the report and give a message about it in 60 seconds.

Ditto on the NACHI MB. I just navigate around the crap. I still find allot of great tips there.

No need for the Karma stuff. Thanx anyway.

You and I will keep posting to give a little back.

You, good buddy, are the reason I now know that Boo-Boo had a blue bow tie!  Remember, when I watched "The Yogi Bear Show," it was all black and white.  You inspired me to look up and see what colors Yogi's had and tie were.  Lime green, both!  I did not know...

As to the Nachi crap, it's hard to navigate around it all...
