TOPIC: Clients Can Now View Inspection Reports on YOUR Website!

Re: Clients Can Now View Inspection Reports on YOUR Website! 15 years 1 week ago #12059

Hi Thomas,

The pages are hidden from the search engines as you don't want the reports becoming public (illegal in most states). So it won't help in that way. But it will help by bringing your clients back to your site and helping to keep them with a unified look and feel (rather than picking up their report on our server).

So does this mean that pages that are not in the menu are not seen by search engines?  Or in other word hidden pages are not indexed and therefor do not help us in this way?

As long as there's a link anywhere on your site to the page, then Google will find it. It doesn't need to be a menu item.

For example Google finds all your link pages because there are text links to them within the links page itself.

A page that has nothing linking to it can't be found by Google, and won't help you as far as size. BUT since people are visiting your site to view your reports, it will help your ranking as it increases your sites page views.

Great!

I have been doing this manually by creating a new page for each client.
Doesn't take too long, but there are several processes...

It seems you have the security issues covered. We can not be giving access to reports without the clients permission, so posting it to the net can be an issue.

Where are the pages stored Dom? In content?

Thanks again for making life easier in the reporting end of our job. This is the hard part of the job, inspecting is easy.

How should we list more than one site for activation?

You can create two user accounts on the HIP site if you want to use two sites, then when you upload the report via HIP just switch your username & pw under Internet Settings.

The beauty is, there are no pages stored on your site :) Everything is still stored on our main site so you can log in here and review all your reports, delete them, etc.
