Talking to a financial advisor is something everyone should do no matter what they do for a living!  I'm working on a finance degree and have been looking into what all is involved with being a financial advisor.  "They" say its one of the more difficult areas to get into because there are so many licenses they have to get.

And for everyone out there, a stock broker is NOT a financial advisor!

Lol, ya when my financial advisor told me what tests she had to take and the licences she needed I didn't envy her, but it made her worth every penny!

lol thanks.... I'm still looking at 2 more years just to get my degree.  Found out the hard way why you don't want to go to a 2 year school then transfer to a 4 year.  Gotta take tons of elective just to get their minimum classroom time!  By the time I'm done I should be a 7 year Senior.  lol

I think the one with the most bang for the buck is Dom's idea of doing a few pre-listing inspections for free and getting your report on the kitchen table. You can offer it to a few familiar Real Estate Agents and limit the number. (a couple a month so it doesn't get out of control) The agents will love it for there is a $250. to $400.+ - value to throw at a client if they list. Every buyer that looks at that house is looking in your area and can have your report. B C s and flyers are a must if you have them.

When you think about it the actual cash outlay is small, but the return could be large! Your biggest cost is your time. Just keep it under control.

Hey, Russ, in my area some of the builders have begun a new sneaky technique.  They conduct the "one year walk through" at 11 months.  That means, if I am doing a "one-year warranty inspection" the homeowner needs to call me around the 10th month.  Pretty slick, huh?


Yep-
I'm gonna have to get more on the ball this year with sending out cards (BTW: "Send Out Cards" is a whole nother mktg idea that Jeanne's a distributor for) at 10 months for Warranty or Home Mtc Inspections.
