John, that's way too long. What are you spending the most time on?

Most inspectors will charge in the car like Louie said. They'll also charge while they setup on the kitchen counter and enter the client info, review the report at the end of the inspection, go on the roof, etc. Of course this varies on if you have a 2nd job to worry about that day. But I've seen plenty of guys using 2 hours tablets to do 3 inspections a day.

On average I spend 3 hours on the inspection.

I then come home and enter the data from memory.  Once that is done I upload all the pics.  I then work my way through the pics putting them in the report where they are needed.  I then listen to my voice notes to make sure I didn't miss something.  Then I generate the report and scan through it to make sure I didn't miss any check boxes.  Then I'm done and I upload it to the server.

There are several aspects to why it takes me so long.  One is I break the report down per room.  Two is I found I had tons of damage windows that I had to use (I broke down my old version to see what was taking so long).  And three, I had to hunt for my verbiage in the selection and damage windows.

I hope I have cleaned a lot of this stuff up with the new versions. The longer report template kept the room by room break down and the short version groups the house by interior and exterior.  That is the major difference between the two templates.

anyone know where I can find a ASUS Eee PC T91 8.9" Touch Screen Netbook.  I ordered one from FadFusion.com and never got a delivery date tracking number and they have not answered any of my e mails. I think I may take it up with Paypal and American Express and get a refund.  >:(

Problem is the more windows or tabs help make the report more through and people love room by room.

I use a hybrid of systems and then Bathroom and Kitchen as their own sections with components listed  .

I get compliments all the time on how good my reports are.
