TOPIC: Home Inspector Pro 4.0 Release Notes

Re: Home Inspector Pro 4.0 Release Notes 9 years 6 months ago #59162

I know the big feature for 4.0 is adding video ...but I'm hoping this feature has also been added.

I just did an inspection on a home built in 1890;15,483sq-ft; several hundred pics; requires allot of work.
After slotting my pictures, and starting to write the report....It would have been extremely helpful to click on a pic in the report and be taken right to the tab it was slotted in...way too much hunt and peck.

4.0.7

New Feature: Supports duplicating entire sections via mobile!

New Feature: When uploading PDF report direct to ISN the inspection will also be marked as complete. This will cause emails to be sent with the report to whoever you've setup on ISN.

Bug Fix: Coded around Java 7/Windows 8 bug that caused HIP to not start in rare instances.

Just purchased the upgrade with paypal.
I'm using my samsung android cameras now exclusively
I have updated to the latest app off google store
I'm in the app with my template and don't see anywhere I can initiate filming
in camera mode.

How do we create a video which is slotted properly  into the category
we are in at the time ?

Is there a tutorial video to walk us through the new features ?

Or how do I simply initiate the camera video function while in
the HIP mobile app during a home inspection ?

Dom
From where I'm sitting this is the way I see it .
I used to like to create my reports 98% on the mobile version with my
samsung android cameras....use the cloud and download em on my PC in the
office at the end of the day to orient pics add arrows etc ...

Complete the reports in about 10 minutes tops and send em on the way .

Never really needed the cloud service and to be honest it's more of a royal
pain in the arse than anything.

I understand it's where your file conversion/ format takes place so
it's a necessary thing.

Now with the latest version and the fact that I must still attach a usb
adaptor cable to my devices to pull video files off of the memory and sort through
them to determine which category to slot them like I used to with pics.

I'm kinda wondering why I need a cloud service at all?

Can't you simply have a button on the pc version that we can hit and convert the
file saved from the inspection on the mobile version manually ?

Why do we need the cloud and to go through all the hassle if we are going to
have to manually pull the data from the devices to complete the report?

We cannot complete the report with HIP mobile fully with 4.0 with regards to video
anyway.

Editing and insertion on the pc base software is mandated.

I'm just at a loss as to why we need a cloud service to simply transfer data from one platform to another ?
