TOPIC: Mobile Beta 4/20

Re: Mobile Beta 4/20 10 years 11 months ago #53971

Found a new problem...

I have decided my old digital camera is better and easier to use than the camera on the tablet.  The tablet photos look good on the tablet but don't look good in HIP.  So, I am taking all of my pictures with a digital camera and batch importing on the PC.  Mobile HIP transfers a cover photo of "Put cover photo here".  So, I have to delete that picture prior to the batch import.  Please don't send that picture from Mobile HIP.  Thanks.

That's on purpose. We didn't do that previously and everyone was complaining that the pics they took went into that spot when they didn't take the cover. So we automatically put the place holder there. It's much easier to delete the pic quickly than for those using HIP mobile that just forget the take it first.

OK on the pic.  Just got to remember to delete it.

One problem:  Remember that I am using a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch.  It is running Android version 4.1.1.  When I choose to edit a comment, the comment opens in the edit screen and the keyboard opens for about 1 second.  Then, the keyboard goes away.  I have to wait another second, click in the comment and the keyboard will return.  Is there a way to make the keyboard stay from the beginning or make it not appear initially?

One suggestion:  From the edit a comment screen, make the back button do a Save.  By default, I always want to save what I just changed.  There are a few times that I don't want to save it, but that is a special case.  Sometimes, I get happy pressing the back button and lose my changes.  Thanks.

In the latest beta version it stays away. Do you know the date of the version I sent you?

We have to follow good programming practices for the app stores to approve our apps. They require a save/cancel button basically in that window and there has to be a back. So the way its set up is all we can do. Apple actually goes through and complains and won't approve things unless it follows how they want apps to work. And of course we want Android and iPhone/iPad to be identical. Just train yourself to click SAVE!

Just to weigh in on some of the beta issue, I too have had challenges maintaining the bullet and comma formatting. My template is not all one or the other but a mix depending on the info. When the mobile version is uploaded into the PC version is seems to randomly change them, not all but just a few here and there. I have also experienced "dead" drop downs from mobile uploaded inspections as well and if I save it as the original template I have to go back and fix many areas.

As for the list feature, I'm still using the original beta listed in the subject and it takes me forever to get it to land on the right selection.

Looking forward to seeing what unfolds in the next revision or beta version.

Dom, feel free to send me an updated beta if you can. . . I know that there are some changes that are also dependent on the PC version being updated as well to keep things compatible.

Concerning the comma/bullet issue...

I have my template set to New Line & Bullet for everything.  When I start an inspection on Mobile, upload and download it to the PC, it changes the first 7 tabs in the 1st section of my template to commas.  Thanks.
