TOPIC: update idea

update idea 13 years 4 months ago #37729

Sometimes I forget to select black(minor) or red(serious) for a comment after I select it from the list of concerns.  I still think that when ever you create a new report, or select save,  any comment/concern that was highlighted in the report should appear in the red (serious) section of the report. Sometimes we forget to move them over, so the concerns that are forgotten should automatically generate into the report. Any blue selected concern should appear in the report. Its better to include it than exclude it. We selected it for some reason when we were creating the report....

Hi Mark,

I don't like the idea of automatically adding something to the summary as I could see guys accidentally clicking on something and then ignoring it because it wasn't sent to red or black. It's also not good to send what should be a minor issue to the summary.

How about when you click Generate Report the program displays a list of comments selected in the program that haven't been sent anywhere? As long as it can be turned on/off I think that would be more useful.

Agreed, that is exactly what we would need - to assure that the selected comments are not left behind. I also find that sometimes I edit my pictures, and later to my surprise, I do not see them in the report, as I forgot to select the destination. When I include 40-50 pics, its easy to miss them even at the review. So it would also be good to include some type of check/confirmation, that the pics were assigned their destination.

What kind of check would you like? A lot of times people purposely don't include pictures but save them for storage.

I take around 300 pics at the inspection, but import only 40-50 into the report. I edit those pics with pointers/circle/short text, but sometimes I forget to assign them to their destination. So if there was some check when I Generate Report, to make sure that pics destination is assigned, it could confirm that all of the imported pics will be included.
I did not realized that some guys just import all of the pics into the program. I download mine into separate folder, so that I can keep the high resolution, should I ever need them = my insurance. Then I select what I want and batch load into HIP.
I guess the check would have to be a selectable option, but if majority of the guys load all of the pics in and select from those directly in the HIP, and leave others right there, then it is not a worthy effort.
I can live with it.
