TOPIC: Home Inspector Pro 2.8.2 Released For Mac & Windows

Re: Home Inspector Pro 2.7.5 Beta Released 13 years 7 months ago #35358

I don't know if it's possible but I would love it if you could access comments from the photo description section. This way you can add narrative to the photo that will wind up automatically in the correct section of the report. Kinda backwards from the current method. But I upload my photos and reference them as my field notes . If the drop Down box had my default deficiencies listed I could select that and not have to go back under each tab and select the deficiencies and the go back to photo and choose the photo description. This would cut my time down tremendously.

BOB: Sorry, I was not clear. I’m referring to within the program—when you open up the “Enter Comment Text” window, when you are editing an existing damage panel narrative/comment, and you use the “Edit Lists” button at the top.

BTW—Dominic:  can you change it so that this new window: “Enter Comment Text” (with the two new ‘buttons’ at the top) opens up also when we “ADD” a new narrative/comment to begin with?

That is exactly what I keep hoping for as my biggest wish.

GREAT new feature/improvement on the Summary page! e.g. colors/fonts/on/off etc.

In the .pdf contents section: can you also make the “Summary” page show at the top – after the “Cover Page”, for those people who like to print the summary page at the beginning of the report (unlike in Texas)?

Drop Down Boxes: POSSIBLE BUG!: ???

Sequence of actions: (duplicated)
         1. Built a drop down list, and its corresponding comments.  e.g.  <<rooms>> as in:
“There is no heat source for <<rooms>>. An HVAC professional should correct as needed.”
         2. Moved comment to Black/Red.
         3. Double clicked—all worked as advertised.
         4. Saved Inspection.
         5. Closed HIP.
         6. Reopened HIP.
         7. Opened just saved Inspection.
         8. Just added comment still shows in the damage panel with the <<rooms>> as written.
         9. However, all created drop down lists are gone!
       10. If you now move that particular comment to Black/Red, HIP locks up when you try to double click on the comment.
(a “Java Platform SE binary is not responding” error message appears)

Bottom line, looks like the created drop down lists are not being saved.

I have duplicated this error several times. Don’t know if it’s my system or HIP bug!
