Re: List of Inspector Submitted Templates and Sample Reports 9 years 8 months ago #58542

Has anyone created or is the ability even allowed in the program to create a template without the condition ratings, i.e. Good, Fair, Poor N/A and None

Yes. If you open your template (using the Open Template button), go to the Report Settings menu, then Ratings. You can uncheck the box labeled 'Check this box to include ratings in the report.'. This will remove the ratings from the PDF report, though the checkboxes will still be available when you are entering data within the program.

If you would like the ratings to not be included in the reports by default, make sure to Save Template before you close the program.

Interesting how so many want the fast, let me borrow / copy method of running a business.  The HIP program is so simple to adapt / change / add / make your own template I don't understand why you want to use something that isn't YOU.  Take the time in the evening when you are watching the boob tube and put together a template in an order that you normally inspect.  If you are just starting, chances are there is lots of spare time.  So stop working in the garage, watching tv, and doing things "non-inspection business" related, and work at your business.  Start writing now and guess what, you will still be writing in 10 years as you add things to your library of narratives.

If you have a State SOP, use it as a guideline for everything.  If you don't have a State SOP but belong to a national organization, use their SOP.  If you use some other SOP, then use it as a guideline for everything.

Over the last 7 years of using HIP exclusively, I have developed and changed my templates multiple times as my business changed and evolved.  I write my own language because I want consistency between the way I talk with clients and the way I write.  If you talk with clients one way, and use someone else's written comments, there can be minute but distinct differences.  Sure, lots of comments are similar, but they can also be different due to regional dialects.

You should be using the exact same inspection protocol for every inspection.  This way you don't miss things due to distractions by clients, agents or other factors.  Make your template so it mimics your inspection methods.  That way you don't duplicate items or miss something easy.  This is the difference between someone that is treating their business as a business or merely a stepping stone to something else.  JMHO.  :P

There is nothing sweeter than the smell of fresh cut grass on a baseball infield, the click of a wooden bat and the taste of a hot dog at a warm sunny daytime double-header.

Thanks Dan McCannon. Have downloaded a few templates but none without the ratings. Now I can adjust my downloaded templates. Love the ability to download others templates!

Does anyone have a Septic Dye Test template, they'd like to share?

Did you look at the septic template to see if it includes dye testing?
