TOPIC: Leaving a sales letter / brochure after doing an inspection.

Leaving a sales letter / brochure after doing an inspection. 10 years 1 week ago #57467

Looking at leaving a marketing business card (type sales letter) at the seller's home after doing a thorough inspection.
Have never done this type of marketing before. Any comments on this form of marketing or sample sales letters / brochures used would be welcome.

I've always left a business card on the kitchen counter or island at every property I inspect. Not only does present a potential client or if the home is vacant, then who knows, maybe a realtor that's looking for the services of an inspector may pick it up. Either way, the cost of a card or two is nothing compared to the potential future work or referral. I try to leave my card with just about everyone I cross paths with.

I leave the following and a card.  It lost it's formatting, but you get the idea.

Dear Home Seller:

Thank you for allowing me [and the potential buyer] to inspect your home. We realize that we are guests in your home, and we conducted ourselves with the utmost respect for your property.  Although I had to open and close windows and doors, and test systems and appliances, etc., I made every attempt to leave your property in the same condition that I found it. However, please take a moment to check the following to make sure that I have reset them for you properly:

        door locks                                  thermostat/s          range settings/oven & cooktop
window locks                                GFCIs                           faucets
        lights                                      attic access                         drapes/shutters
alarm codes                                 gates                          other: ____________________
