TOPIC: Transferring photos from Mobile to desktop folder

Transferring photos from Mobile to desktop folder 5 years 2 months ago #66216

Dom,
Just performed my first mobile inspection on my galaxy s7. SO AWESOME!!! Kicking myself for not doing this sooner. Saved a boatload of time. Question. I prefer to keep folders containing all the photos from each inspection and store them. Many of the photos do not make it into the report but are more for CYA or taking a closer look at things once I get home. Is there a way to download the photos taken in mobile to a folder on my desktop? Thanks in advance and it was great seeing all the H.I.P. folks at the ASHi conference.
P.s. Galaga top score earner...hehe

I had a great time Theo! It was good talking with you. I'm glad to hear you stayed saving time already!

If you're taking the pics in HIP Mobile double tap and move them to the MISC category so they become CYA only. You can also enable the Full Sized Image feature under Settings and the install Google Photos on the mobile device to automatically back all the images up to photos.Google.com

Dominic, I just tried using that technique and it seems like it would take a long time to take and store lots of photos that you're not going to use for the report. Just too many extra buttons to push for every shot. I currently take my photos for my report using the HIP software so they are all in the correct spots and then switch over to my phones camera app to take lots of photos for my CYA photos. It's really easy to switch back and forth between the HIP software screen and camera screen and the camera screen takes and stores photos super fast. When I get home I use google photos and have them all backed up to their cloud. Is there a way you can incorporate a button on HIP to quickly take photos for CYA picts with out having to press "OK" and then select where you want the picture to be stored? As an added bonus any photos taken for the report would also be added to this CYA area. Right now if I take a photo of a defect for the report I will quickly switch over to my camera app and snap another copy so if I ever pull up the stored CYA photos for reference the photo I used in the report will be in there too. Having a quick button to press to store tons of photos and copies of every photo used in the report would be a dream for me and I believe it would be very helpful for other users as well.

Just some thoughts, Thanks, Dale P.

Click the Inspect button which will take you back to your main list of sections and take your photos. They'll automatically become CYA photos.

Make sure you have HIP Camera enabled too so you can rapid fire pics without exiting the camera app at all.

Ok, that might work. Anyway to get rid of the need to hit "ok" after each photo?

Thanks, Dale P.
