TOPIC: Is there a way to automatically adjust the panel section dividers

Is there a way to automatically adjust the panel section dividers 16 years 2 months ago #300

When I run thru the wizard to set up a new sub-item with a damage panel and at least another selection panel and I go to fill out that information, I always have to move the divider so that the item separator and the item description can be edited.  Even when going back to an already filled out panel, I have to re-adjust this separator.  Is there a way that this separator will not cover those things up when creating and openning?

Hi Robert,

I fixed this in the windows version in the last update, sounds like it's not auto adjusting on the mac end, I'll check it out.

Looked back at this on windows just now. I actually made it so that you didn't have the issue when you had two damage panels, as well as cleaned it up for 800x600 resolutions which couldn't scroll the gray bar down far enough before.

For a selection panel (like a materials on top) and a damage panel on bottom, I actually left it on purpose. The reasoning is that you are going to have 10x more observations listed in a section than material types so I wanted the observations to take up more room. If I split it evenly then you're going to have a huge space at the top for the 10 materials, but then the 100 observations you have listed on the bottom would show less per view.

Since you should only be changing the description once when you initially setup your template it didn't make sense to sacrifice the space on the bottom just to have to slide down a bar for a second. What about if the page split evenly when you clicked edit comments? Would this make it harder to edit the bottom half? It is it worth losing that for the saving of sliding down the gray bar to edit the description.

Let me know what you guys think. I don't want to jump into making changes unless there's a consensus that it's a good idea.

Your right in saying that it is only a problem in making the template.  I can live with the issue because, you are correct once the template is made, it won't be needed and the observations are the area we will be concerned with.  I guess I got to get my template done so I can look at this program from just using it to make a report.  Ignore my idea is my vote. ;)

Hahaha. All ideas are still helpful. In the future maybe I could add some sort of template creation mode above the normal one that would split everything evenly. Keeps the ideas coming, even if it's decided they are better off not done. It's great to get the input from you guys :)

Ok, in the latest Beta I removed the box above Add and now you just click on Add Comment instead and get a popup box. This allowed me to create more space. Now when you hit Edit Comments you should see everything, including the description without moving the bar.
