TOPIC: Editing template

Editing template 14 years 11 months ago #13285

I would like to be able to update the template in the field but the problem I have is that since I created another report that I can not edit as I would like to.

Being I have 1 or 2 inspections a day I can not update the template.

I understand each report is its own template.

Would there every be a way to get around this?

What I have done is look back at the PDF report and then edit my latest inspection. This takes extra time and would be easier to do in the field.

I have mistakenly in the past saved an old report over a new template but I am past that hurdle.

How do other guys update the template?

David,

Why can't you edit your template in the field? If you add narratives in your first job, then click save template, they will be there for the second job you do that day. Can you explain a little more what you mean?

How can that be if the 2nd job was created before the 1st one was edited. Like you say each report is its own template.

I have to create report a day ahead to email contract. Client info, invoice and general info is already set up. You should make a seperate contract/invoice that could transfer to report or something.

I see what you're saying. We'll have to think through a better option. Maybe just leaving the Client Info there when you click Open Inspection, that way you can open the latest and not re-enter it.

Dominic, is there a way to edit comments in one section, lets say bathrooms "ceilings" and have those comments be saved in all interior, bedroom, laundry etc. sections, that have "ceilings" in them, in one shot? I find myself edditing the comments in one section, knowing that I could use those comments in all sections that have i.e "ceilings". Do I have to edit the template and cut and paste whole section out each time I add the comment?
Thanks
