I see this insulation a lot in Iowa homes built between 1930 and 1960. The material is a yellow shaded fibrous material that looks like something between fiberglass and cotton. There are some darker particles mixed in with the material (See the attached photo). I know it is not asbestos, but would like to know the material type.
