John I have a question to ask you pertaining to Keller Williams. How does there referral program work for recommended inspectors. I believe they are set up like Coldwell Banker and the inspector has to pay to be on there list. I had a run a few years ago and received maybe a dozen inspections 1 year. Now maybe I receive 1 or 2 per year.

I receive 0 inspections from Coldwell and like I stated almost 0 from Keller.

I haven't heard anything about having to pay to get used.  I do know they have a list of inspectors they trust and use the most.  But from what I can tell, its a matter of gaining the trust and getting on the list.  I have found out how one of the popular companies around here does it.  The owner is an approved instructor so he teaches classed to the Realtors and they earn CE's from him.  And he has his doctorate, so he "sounds" more knowledgeable when he throws around the Ph.D. on the end of his name.

John, I just started somthing that works. It sounds nuts but I promise you will get results. I got seven results this week. I have three already for next week. I offered every agent (around 1200 so far) a 50% off 1 time only coupon. I stuffed mailboxes and explained it was good only once per realtor. That way it gives them a chance to give you a try, and the people jump on it. I would rather be getting to know people at half price than sitting at home and not!

By the way, KYU, don't be scared just crawl on in.

Also, David, I find it hard to believe you can pay to be put on a list. The real estate commision would not go for that. There would be plenty of liability against the agent for giving you only referrals that payed. If that is the case I would make a phone call or two and you could stir up a big mess.

It is not required to get inspections from the realtors. You pay to get access to the realtors, if you are not on the paid list you can't put flyers in boxes, speak at meetings or access inside of building. When you pay they recommend there realtors use one of the three on the list. KW and CB do it here in Boise. They can't stop you from e-mailing or snail mail them though.
