TOPIC: Basement - No beam or posts

Re: Basement - No beam or posts 11 years 1 month ago #51794

If the center wall is, in fact, a bearing wall, there should be a footer under the concrete slab.
Hard for us to tell unless the pads are cut independant of the slab. If it's new construction,  the foundation design should be readily availible.

Yes the center wall has to be a bearing wall.  At the widest point it is about 35 feet.  Typical floating slab no way to see the footings.

I checked around and found out many new homes are being built like this now.  I don't see a lot of new homes so this was my first without beam and posts.

Thank you all
Have a blessed day!
