Please offer suggestions, comments.
The reason I am creating description areas is I can have just one damage panel. Makes it great in the field.
Before I would have selection/damage and it would be slower to report in the field.
What do you think?
I have tried the look of spacing on the description but it seems to look empty and makes the report longer.

Here is one I did with the selection in blue.
Do you like better or worse?

David, I understand your reasoning and think it looks good overall. I would stick to the two colors and try see how it looks with one font type or use one specific to the headers and one specific to the info below the headers. To me the different font types up and down the page were distracting. (It may be just me though.) Bob-

I agree as the color change seems inappropriate in the second version.
Now i need to look at mine as i use Black font for materials, blue for observation, and red for defect observation or summery text.
Using Blue on material description does look bad though and Font change may be best suited in general if they print Black and White copies of your report.

David, I agree with Bob Elliot’s color scheme. That’s the tried and true HIP default. Here’s my reasoning: The client is not really interested in the “description” [Selection/Materials Font] of items in his first initial look/read of the report, (although descriptions may be valuable, later on, for the client’s reference purposes). So I stick with black color but change the font size from HIP program (Selection/Materials Font: Arial 10 BLACK, is what I use, “keep it simple stupid” philosophy) You do however, it seems to me, want to get the client to read all your applicable “observations and recommendations” [Normal Damage Font]. Here, any color but black directs the client’s attention to your narratives. (Normal Damage Font: Arial 10 BLUE, for example) And, of course, it goes without saying; the “Serious Damage Font” should be another color that brings even more attention to the client and agent, Serious Damage Font: Arial 10 RED I do very much like your format of your third post, and will probably try something like that also. Great work David! SERGE

Hey Serge, good comments, and nice to see you on the board again! The upcoming release gives you a few more places you can change fonts like photo captions, description text itself, etc.

A few people are testing the beta right now and the ISN (inspectionsupport.net) integration. I have a few of the new features turned off for them though as I'm trying to finish testing first. I'd like to have someone to the larger beta testing public in the next 2 weeks.

David, I'd like to post a page of one of my reports for folks to evaluate. How do I do that?

Hi Dominic, Do I get the report from the program file in C drive? Or do I save as a pdf file and then attach the report to my post.

You want the PDF which means you can generate report and save to your desktop or just go directly to C:\Program Files\Home Inspector Pro\Client Reports , same as if you were emailing a report.
