This is one of the tools that some search engines use to determine how popular your site is and can affect ranking on certain search engines. You can check your Alexa ranking by going to http://www.Alexa.com and looking up your site rank (change the drop down box). If will also give you some stats on your site. How it gets this data it similar to the Nielson Ratings. Basically Alexa has a toolbar that you can download at Alexa Toolbar . It uses the number of people using the toolbar who visit your site to come up with an approximation. If you install the toolbar, each time you visit your site, you'll be helping your Alexa rankings! Check out some of the rankings of your sites and your competitors. |

I was on Alexa this morning and they are asking to add the following to my meta tag on my home page.
Or, add this meta tag to the home page of abocaratonhomeinspector.com:

(Meta tags go between the opening <head> tag and the closing </head> tag of the HTML.)
Is this something that we can do and if so, would you please do this so that i dont completely screw up the source code on my home page.

When I added all the links here I went up 1800% and went up into 118,000 in the rankings but now I keep slipping down I am at 140,000 now for some reason Well, I checked and I am in the top 3,244,091 !! Woohoo !! Out of how many sites? So if I bring that up to the top 1,000,000 am I doing well? I'm not being facetious... would that be good?

My last two weeks of business have been great  But that meant I didn't get to work on the website as much as I'd like. My Alexa drop slowed as well. I'm @ mid 500,000s after about 1.5 months. I guess that's pretty good. |

Hey Guys, My latest Alexa ranking is 735,000 worldwide and 105,000 in the US. This has been dropping dramatically over the last month from over double those #'s. So how will this affect Google. So far I am on the front page under four search criteria for my area in BING, YAHOO and ASK but Google has me planted at the top of 2nd page. I am still working hard at my site, but do you think the ALEXA is having an effect or does it not really matter?

I just installed the toolbar. When I go to my website it doesn't rank me at all on the tool bar. However when I went to the Alexa website I did get a ranking. What is the difference between the two? Is one better to pay attention to?

I've gone from about 1.5 mil to 930,000 in about 2 months....cool. Now the important questions. What does this information mean to me other then my site is getting looked at? Does this help me understand what I'm doing right or wrong?
