Hi Lou,

Yes it runs fine on the computer. I saw it running on a users  machine last week. Where do you live? I went to costco last week to find it but they did not have them in stock.

I see guys using all sorts of printers. Are you planning on having power and space in a van or carrying it into the home to print?

Louie - I use a Cannon I-80 (I-90 is new one) about $250 works great- get a lot positive remarks from agents and clients. It's light 3-4 lbs. fits in computer bag with laptop. You do need grounded power source. I'm starting to do more e-mail reports it seems these days. If you own any Cannon products you can go online and get a loyalty code and 30 % discount . Chris

The Fujitsu LifeBook U810 is only sold online. There supply is running low FRYS sells them but they are sold out now. How about  this will the software run on a PDA like a HP iPAQ ?

Nope. We did testing on PDA's and the guys who were using tablets hated it. With a tablet you can see around 50 comments at a time. Switch to a 2.5 inch PDA and you see around 5. It takes forever to navigate around as well and you need a computer at the end to print from. So we decided to focus on being cross platform instead as there were no other programs that ran on a mac and windows.

You can also check out clearanceclub.com they get good prices on factory refurbished tablets. Plus you can find tablets on hp or fujitu's site for around $1200 and you have a full computer, where a pda is useless for anything else. Aim for thr 10-12 inch tablets as that's what most guys  like.

Ok I am trying to keep it small  I don't want to really go up to 10 or 12 inch for that much I would just use my laptop and save the $1200.00 I will look around some more..

Ok. Don't forget the samsung Q1 as well. Its the competitor to the fujitsu and has the same specs as well. The nice thing is that both have 1024x600 resolution so its close to a normal screen. Plus you can get internet, type documents, etc.

Check out cnet and pricewatch for other prices but I'd go costco if you can due to the 6 month return policy (as you know). Let me know if costco has any, I'll probably get one.

Technically, yes it would run as the program works with Linux, but it's got a very low 800x400 resolution. The smallest computer monitor today runs at 800x600 and that's the smallest the program aims to handle. I think you'd find it a bit cumbersome to use at that resolution. In fact, I'd need to make some changes as some of the windows like the Edit Template screen only shrink down to 600 pixels high right now.

Wait, the school paid for the software and the PDA as part of the package? 3D has good software, but I've always suggest staying away from all the Pocket PC programs. It just takes up too much time to maneuver, plus you need to sync with a normal computer afterwards anyways.

Wow, how much did the course cost? The software alone usually costs over $1,000!
