My agent is RE/MAX he charges 3% and if a minimum broker comes in, say mincom brokerage  then he knock the 1/2% and kick it back to the sellers, he refuses to give cheaper brokers the extra half percent, they advertise less cost but rarly give it up, if its on the table as I did signed 3 % seller 3 % buyer agents.
Buyer was doing it for 2.5% and my agent cut his commision the 1/2 percent and gave it back to me.
Thats why you pay your agent, to keep you in mind and work for you.
