If it is worth doing, it's worth doing well.

Comparing InterNACHI and the ASHI SOP, there is not a lot of difference. (That's a good thing.
The only I noticed without doing a detailed study, is
-ASHI; The inspector is NOT required to determine whether water supply and waste disposal systems are public or private.
- InterNACHI; The inspector shall inspect and determine if the water supply is public or private )

It seems to me that the InterNACHI SOP is so detailed and verbose to almost guarantee the client won't read it.
For instance the ASHI exterior-not-required-to list is A to G.  This InterNACHI list is A to Q.  If the client decides to read it is his responsibility but it is something to consider.  More importantly, I can imagine a client reading through it and thinking that there is more we don't do that do!
Do any of you have any thoughts on this?
Thanks.
A tag on question; Do any of you publish a modified version of the SOP?

All SOP's whether from an association other a state are 99% the same, as you found (with Texas being about 90% the same).

I have the link to the ASHI SOP on my contract highlighted in blue.

I have the ASHI SOP for each section listed at the top of the page.

I am both a NACHI and ASHI inspector but I have been using the ASHI SOP.

I try to stay within the guidlines of the SOP but I do report on fences and outbuildings.
