I would like to see the ability to make invoices print right along with the report, if one so chooses, without having to cut and paste one from Word.  I would like it to be built into the software.

Invoicing so far has been left as part of the contract. When you print the contract is has the pricing right on there, and is signed by all parties. It's printed separately so that you make sure you have it signed before you do the inspection so you don't expose yourself to a lawsuit. What else would you want added? Most guys I've seen have added any text they've needed into the contract page itself.

Well, I am using a pre-printed contract outside of the software and it is not acting as an invoice/receipt.  I would be interested to see what the contract is that the guys are using in the software

Click on the Contract button in the program and click the print button. You will see the data that is automatically filled at the bottom and top, and you get to fill in the middle with whatever you want.

Bob, even if people get paid on sites they often give receipts/invoices to their customers.

I use the contract as a receipt. I write "Paid" at the top and initial it. If I ever get to the point that I use a template then I will print a receipt from that. I use Quickbooks, it has that ability.

Yeah that was the original design. Now with the new variables, some of the guys have added more into the contract or made a separate document.

I just made an "INVOICE" document, using the $dynamic variables feature, and print it separately. I attach it to the contract page. Sign it paid at the end of the inspection when I get the $.

It looks much like the attached Word document.

NOW, IF I COULD JUST GET DOMINIC TO HURRY UP AND ADD THE $ClientInspectionFee VARIABLE, I'll ALL SET!  Grin

Hint!  Hint!

Hi Serge
If you do not mind me asking?
Why do you need a separate document for paid.
besides the check being noted as Home Inspection and marking a check number on your Inspection Agreement.
Seems like just more work for nothing to me. Huh Huh Huh

I agree, it is more work.
It's just window dressing so the client has a separate receipt from the contract. Sometimes, I add Radon Testing fees, when appropriate.

Ok
Thanks for replying as I was wondering whether or not I was missing some bigger picture reason for it.

It is not really an invoice, it is a receipt. An invoice would be if you are collecting payment at a later date. A receipt is when your paid at time of service. It is all semantics. I like what Serge did.

I've finished up the programming on it, once I complete some of the other features for the new version you can use them!

You can create it as a document as Serge has done and the fields will auto populate. You can then print just that page using a PDF Printer like PrimoPDF (allows you to send just a particular page to a new PDF). We'll have the ability to print out separate documents in the future.

Don't you guys invoice through your financial software? I do it in quickbooks, that way when I do the accounting everything is in one place.
