Not bad looking. I would work on the font a bit. Some of the letters fade out then come back in. Might make a little difficult for some to read. Although it was fine for me and I'm a blind bastard. lol
What do you mean by fade out, then come back in? They are black text, I thought it was good contrast. You blind bastard!!! Oh and John, when I get this site done, you can link to it, you can be the first!!! What do you think of this font? REALLY??? The very first!!! That font looks sooo much better. It really stands out. I like! |

I think the header looks great Mike.
At this time you can't change Navigation color or font. We're working that into future updates though.

Mike, I think the header looks pretty good. I am impressed that you were able to do that with GIMP. I had grand ideas about a custom header and a new logo until I tried to learn GIMP. That program is a deal breaker! I tried the you tube help videos and all.

Drew, try using Photoscape then. It can't do quite as much but it's simpler. Though Mike might make graphics for guys who needed help for a price.

Well you can download any image by right clicking on it in FF and clicking save image. I had started uploading special PSD's to the website image location and there's some here in the message boards theme section. If I'm missing one let me know and I'll upload it.

Do I choose a theme solely based on the looks or are there themes that are better for certain things than other themes?

Each theme has it's own areas you can put content, it's own look and other unique qualities. The nice thing is you can change themes at any time and all your content moves with them. You can also swap out images so for example I've seen a single theme used for mold inspectors, pest inspectors, home inspectors, plumbers, etc.
Start out focusing on content, then work on the theme and other items.

O.K.- Stick a fork in me, I'm done. I think I'm not designed to design. I can't seem to get my logo on the template (any template). When it loads, it covers most of the page. Then, I can't clear the big picture and start over. It gives a warning "argument #1 is not an array in bla bla bla. Help!

Hey Greg, I just sent you this via email as well. Make sure you change your theme under Themes in your admin menu. You're changing it under My Account which only affects you, not the public. To change your logo go to Themes and click Configure next to your theme. Then click the browse button next to the logo and upload your logo. You will need to shrink your logo before uploading it. There's a free program discussed on the message board called Photoscape you can use at http://www.photoscape.org/ps/main/download.php (though any photo program would work. The size you want depends on the theme you use, but usually around 65x65. |

Under the header, I included "serving bla bla bal. However next to logo (to the right) appears the name of my business, whose font style I would like to change. Also, directly under the name jof my business it says "serving bla bla bla (which I would like to omit). How do it do that? It's not part of the header, obviously.

If you're entering that info under Site Information you can't change the font in the current version of the sites (in an upcoming update you can). I created a block though called header which had all your information and allows you to change everything you want.
