I would like a drop down menu on the credit card payment page. This can have the different services we offer listed.

I am not sure about the feasibility of this, but I thought this would help with linking.
Is there a way that another inspector could have access to my link input page without having access to the rest of my admin functions? This way we could visit each others sites, that helps with traffic, then you can input your link info directly into my site.

Can you add a prompt to "save this template" when we close the program (like "save this client")?

That way my dumb a$$ will actually have the comments available for my next report. Smiley

I think the warning should read "Hey dumbass, don't forget to save your template, geez!!"

I have realtor contact who is using an inspector that uses report host and she loves the icons for the simplicity of going over the report with her clients. I wonder if any one else would like to see Icons as an option for HIP?
here's what im talking about for those unfamiliar with report host software:

'Do you really want to delete this picture' prompt.

Dom, you know I keep hitting the delete button instead of the right button...guess I'm a dumb a$$ too.

I had someone else suggest that as well. I don't want to force the extra click on people who hit the right button, so I think I'll make another section under Report Settings for extra safety features that can be turned on/off.

That would be cool. I never delete pictures I don't use. It's just that I move through the picture assignments pretty quickly and will accidently hit the delete key. That's when the 'hey dumba$$, you sure you want to delete this picture' prompt should come up.  Grin

I'm adding client info into the address book with the same fields, will that work?

I wish I could save comments as I work.

Wouldn't be nice as you narrate to be able to save that comment to your template as you work rather than go through a process.

might be cool to one night just add comments from this report and that report with out need to type them in all over again.
The way it exists we would end up saving every single comment and need to edit out all the ones we do not wish to save.

Perhaps a button for' save this comment to template.'

I'm a little confused by your question. As is exists you're building your narratives with every report. If you don't want a comment to save to the template just add a comment to red/black then edit it over on the right. It will only save to the inspection. Only comments added or edited on the left get saved into the template. So in a way there already is a way. You can also open up two copies of the program side by side and copy/paste from other inspections or templates  (even from other inspectors).

I looked at what you said and true you can go back through the whole process of split screening the template with a inspection and copy the comment over to it.
That is my whole point though as it would be nice to have a box to click in the edit box that says save to template as you write the text.

You could then save only that comment to the template as you work with little effort.

When you write a bunch of narratives you would need to keep deleting all the ones you do not wish to save from the left side during the actual report process or hitting save would add all of them ,including the ones you do not wish to save.

I am saying my suggestion would be a good way to build up your library with little effort.

When doing narrative style you are clicking add and then choosing red or black but the comment goes also into the left side and at the end all of those comments would copy over if you saved it as template.

With your way one would need to instead delete all narratives from the left while working except for the one .

I guess the idea came when thinking I would like to go through my old reports and start adding some of the comments that are not in my present template.

I would need to start opening them and then go split screen and scroll pages on both the versions to add and subtract.

Would be kinda cool to just add a check mark that adds the comment automatically to the template.

Just a thought.

Bob, you don't need to add a comment to the left if you don't plan on keeping it. Add a blank comment to the top of your list, then add that to black/red and double click it to edit it. Then it only exists on the black/red side. No need for it to exist on the left.

I see what you're saying about having a master library. It's been considered a few times, the question comes in with HIP's flexibility. How do you handle adding a comment if the section doesn't exist or has been renamed? A LONG time ago we had global electrical comments rather than allowing guys to change them per room. Guys complained they had a different set of electrical for a bathroom versus an attic and didn't want to see an overflow. Definitely something to keep thinking about, just need a better implementation method.
