I know this is a "fluff" request, but I'll post it anyways. Grin

Can we have an "Auto-Save for the template" ?  I'm not exactly sure when to make it do the save,
but at least upon exiting the program would be nice. Cool
We'll leave that up to you to figure out  Wink

I could do one when exiting the program. Can't do one live as it takes a few seconds and screws up guys walking around with at tablet to have the machine stop responding for 3-4 seconds during a save (tried this a few years ago with auto save inspection). Though, you can always just open your last job and click Save Template. So by saving your inspection, you can easily save the template later as well. We'll get some more input. I don't know if guys would want a second button to click to exist the program or not.

You could always make it an option to turn on and off!

I've considered that too. I wan't to make sure things like that which have an option are going to be used, otherwise the program starts to get bloated.

I would like to see a way to send the report to the sellers agent at the same time as the client and their agent.

When you hover over a comment only certain ones open up, why not make it so all the comments open up? I know you say click on another tab then they open, but then every report  x every tab x every section sure adds up to a lot of extra clicks. Then the other problem with that is my comment sections are short and then you have to use the scroll bar to go up and down. If you grab the divider bar and drag it upwards you do see a longer list but it makes the comments go short again. They do not stay open. You can only do one or the other, I think we would like it to do both, and have the comments open when you hover. Thanks

Added in 2.6.6.8. 5/22/09

A button or choice that says : include summary or not include summary

Maybe in the "section colors and print order" tab, under bath, attic, kitchen etc., it says summary - then you would click to include it or not.

Dominic, is there still (or was there ever) on the wish list a third button on the damage panels which will highlight text in a third color on the reports. The third color being for things the client should monitor instead of severe damage. I do not think these items need to populate in the summary, unless they did so in a separate area. I think this will help in noting things without drawing serious attention to them.

It's been discussed. The problem is with the smaller screens it's hard to fit a third box on the right. One thing guys do is they'll put Monitor: or Service:, etc in front of the narrative itself so it shows that way in the report and summary if it was sent to red. We've been going over giving complete color control to comments, the problem is how to allow that and have summary items one color at the same time.

Mark, that's definitely on the to-do list. Right now guys just change the summary title to Client Notes: when they don't want o use it.

Mark, only a few people have the latest beta, I haven't released it to the larger group of Beta guys yet (about 80 of you).

I'm just saying you can go to Report Settings->Options and rename Summary to Client Notes and then don't mark anything as red. That's what guys not wanting a summary are doing for now.

Rating boxes - under options you can choose include ratings

I would like the rating boxes to not show up if I don't "x" one.

Hmm, that could be dangerous as you're not going to see whether you've missed a box or not as it just won't show. Would a Selection Panel not work in the area you're using it in? Can I have an example of where this would be useful?

I am trying to understand the need for the third box. Why can't a third color text populate in either of the two existing boxes? I would think the lower box that forwards to the summary page would be the best. Is there a programming issue that I would not know about?

We could just add another color button and have it go to the red box an those items would go on the summary. Programming is never an issue, it's usually trying to figure out the best method for you guys to perform what you're trying to do. For example if there's a third color button that's green and you click a few items, red, green, red, then what order should they appear in the summary page? Should they be separated or not? There would be quite a bit of programming involved no matter which way we choose as the program clearly separates out the two right now so I want to make sure we figure out a good way conceptually before going ahead with the dedication of time (there's so many features to implement it's no good to waste time and then go back and redo something).

If you add a pic the ratings box shows. If you put a comment in like, "outside valve", the rating box shows. You then have to reopen the report and fake a rating, other wise it shows on the report but with no rating selected. The rating box is there but it is blank. It seems to me that if you don't select a rating choice, it should not show up.

We could definitely add in the option, I'm just trying to understand the logic and make sure it's a feature others would use. The point of the ratings is that every damage page has a rating if you're using them. If there's no rating then you're just talking about a material type or selection panel. So you're basically saying you have some selection panels/materials that you're taking pictures of and there's no reason to rate them, even to just say Inspected.
