Well........ I have been using Adobe reader 5 for a long time.

Last time I opened a PDF document I got a popup asking to upgrade to Adobe reader 9.

Like an idiot I clicked ok..................  After the download and install was completed none of my previous PDF files would open Shocked

Didn't know what to do ....so I did a system restore and the old files opend ok....however now I can't open new PDF files, like something posted on the message boards.  System freezes and the only way to get thawed out is to do the Control Alt Delete thing.

Using XP pro

Anyone got any  Cool ideas?

Cheers

With XP Pro there's no reason you cant use acrobat 9. Try uninstalling 5 via add/remove programs, reboot and then install 9.

That will work to I guess Smiley I was going to suggest uninstalling 9 and re installing 5...which you still might try if 9 still doesn't work
