Greg,
To insert documents go to Edit Documents and you can add additional documents and set where you want them to print, or create new ones. At this time the document files aren't in the template. So you can ask Serge to email them to you or you can copy and paste them from his PDF sample into the Edit Documents section. There's an animated tutorial on how to work with Documents as well.

I'm familiar with how to create one and insert them, I had thought they were included in the template. That makes sense now.

Ahh ok, got it!
Originally the logic was that documents should be universal to all templates so that you could use the same document in multiple templates. As time has gone on more inspectors are moving templates around and sharing them so we're going to need to change this. The trouble is just to ensure backwards compatibility. In the future we're going to end up saving the documents inside the template, the inspection file and probably separately. We're still working out the logistics.

Hi Greg, Just go to Report Setting then "Cover Page Footer". Insert your text there.

Greg, I'm working on several new documents, as I improve the template. As Dominic said, let me know which ones you want, I'll be glad to email them to you.

Thanks for the offer. I am creating my own using yours as a reference. I just couldn't figure out where your documents were orginating. I had assumed they were attached to the template. Now that I understand they are seperate from the template, I'm getting results.

Sweet Report and template Serge. Are you doing this all on site? I noticed your inspection time was 2 and a half hours. Was that to do the inspection and report or the inspection only. I am interested in speeding up my inspection + report time without compromising on quality. I would be blown away if you could pull both of those off in 2 and a half hours with such a knockout report.

Hey James, Welcome to the message boards. Glad to see you posting on here I know Serge's time has increased quite a bit since he started using the program a few months ago. I'm not sure how long he's taking now but hopefully he'll post soon We do have many guys finish and print on site and many who finish later at home. How big the house is, what additional services you're supplying and where in the country you live have a big impact on this though!

James, I do my reports in my office, on my PC. I promise my clients, the report within 24 hours, or by the next business day. I believe that a quality and comprehensive report is the value for the client. It's the home inspector's lasting impression, and our advertising. I cannot provide this type of report on site. We can, and lots of HI's do, provide the inspection and report on site, and “be done with it". At my stage in this business, I'm unable to and would be uncomfortable doing so. My reports are still going through an evolutionary stage. I’ve changed my template and documents substantially, in the last four months since this thread was started. I will be posting a new NOVAhi Sample report soon. For one, I do not use “ratings” any more and I’ve changed the look and fonts a bit. Dominic, I’m still waiting for the “drop-down” feature to be included. I believe that this one feature alone, will speed up the reporting process.

Almost done with it too. I've been splitting my time between that and the photo feature.

Serge,
Great job on the template. I am a new user of the software and I used the matrix report system for years. This template is exactly what I was going to attempt to do over thenext year but you have captured the system that I was looking for. Thanks for all of the hard work and long days. This is great!!!!

Serge, Saw your stuff at the Annual Meeting and am blown away. Now that I've downloaded the template, I've got to figure out how to steal your narrative. I owe you a drink next time our paths cross! Bob Walstead

Bob, you can highlight the intro sections (assuming that's what you're referring to) and paste them into Edit Documents within the program. The narratives within the section automatically come with the template.
It was great meeting you guys in Vegas and I owe you guys big time for helping out as the booth continually got swamped with people. The two of us couldn't keep up, but you and Serge were always there to help!

Bob, Please email me and i will send you my latest template file plus all my documents. This way you will have ALL the narratives in your program. Thanks.
I'm still enjoying the Conference and have one more class to attend. Then I will post when I catch up on my sleep. Us old guys need sleep.
