HIP templete disappeared not working

I am not known for being a computer wizard and sometimes I struggle being the old fart that I am. I updated my computer from XP to windows 7 (and I dispise it)to make a long story shorter I copied HIP from my old computer and installed on the new. I had to install my license also to get away from the trial version and now the templet with all my libary does not show in the task bar of the program when opened. The templet is visible in the menue when going to the open templet button it just does not appear on the task bar when selected
Any ideas would be a great help

Hi Charley,

What version of HIP are you using (look under About->About)? What version of Java are you using (look under Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs)?

It is strange I have a backup libary AHHH which had not been kept updated very well. it works but the one I use all the time is the one that does not work

Okay, this is the issue we've emailed everyone about a few times over the last year. HIP 2.x will not work with Java 7 due to a bug in Java 7. You need to either upgrade to HIP 3 (released last November) or uninstall Java 7 and install Java 6 from java.com.

I did as requested re-installed Java 6 but the program is still squirrely it still does not allow me to use the library template that has all my updates It will allow for a backup template to be used but I don't like to use it as it is not as current. I tried to upgrade to HIP 3 but it does not install over my version of 2.9 What is next Boss I have inspections on Monday and need this working correctly Prolly need ya to do a remote

Okay, once you tried running HIP 2.9 with Java 7 it corrupted that template. Open your last inspection up and then click Save Template. That will restore your template.

If you copied HIP from another computer you might need to change the installation directly to make sure it's the same location. Let us know if you need help with that.
