Can the ratings check boxes be an exclusive check box? I have four ratings. HIP will allow me to check them all. Can we get a feature so that HIP will only allow one of them to be checked. And, if one is checked and I choose a different one, it should uncheck the first and check the 2nd.
Also, it appears that each inspection gets its own copy of the template. I had two inspections today (hallelujah!) and created the files last night using my template so that I could download the info from ISN. While I was working on the 1st inspection, I updated the template with new items/problems that I ran in to. After the inspection was over, I saved the inspection file and saved the template. I closed the 1st inspection and opened the 2nd file. During the 2nd inspection, I needed some of the new stuff that I added to thetemplate. It was not there. It appears that the template gets loaded into an inspection file at the beginning and then the inspection file has a static copy of that template. Now, I have two templates that I need to merge together. Can I merge two templates together? Any way to make the 2nd inspection file pick up the updated template from the 1st inspection?
Thanks.

Oh, and one more question...
I am using HIP on the CTL 2gopc. Some of my selection/damage boxes have vertical scroll bars and horizontal scroll bars. It seems to scroll vertically for 1-2-3 lines/rows. Then, I have to scroll horizontally to get more comments, and scroll back up vertically to get to the top comment. Is there an option to make it only scroll vertically for as far as needed and eliminate the horizontal scroll? Thanks.

Hi Eric,
Correct, once you start an inspection it saves a copy of the template at that time in the inspection file. This is done for a few reasons but most of all consistency. What if you decided to delete sections from your template? You wouldn't want sections from previous reports to be deleted, right? Same goes if you add something today then open a template from a month ago. If sections are added you would have blank sections, and a lot of inconsistencies as you might have moved items around. What you want to do is open an inspection , finish it. Then open another. Remember that you can import ISN info at the end of the inspection too.
As far as ratings, why would you want the problem to auto uncheck for you? Just only check one. Quite a few guys have rating systems they've made where they check more than one box so we couldn't just make it exclusive. Just don't check the others. As I missing something there?
You can open two copies of HIP side by side, a different template in each and copy/paste narratives in.
You shouldn't have any vertical scroll that shows more narratives. We made HIP specifically to go horizontal. The reason is that a single click on the right arrow shows you a new column of narratives. This makes it MUCH easier to find narratives as you're not scrolling up and down through narratives trying to find one you might have scrolled past. I discovered this after following inspectors around for a year in the beginning and watching them scroll around on site. Horizontal stopped that and sped them up a bunch.
What resolution do you have the CTL at? I'll have to check it out to see why you're ending up scrolling for a couple of comments. The program is actually supposed to leave a blank or two at the bottom.

I understand your point about templates. I will only create one file at the time.
I only use one rating per item. However, I find myself marking something a Good and then needing to change it to Poor. Many times, I forget to unmark Good. I would not expect it to be exclusive but it could be an option so the inspectors could choose how it works.
Resolution on the CTL is 1366x768 (recommended).
Thanks.

Hmm, let me think about the ratings. That's not a simple change so I'll need to thing through any affects it might have.
Is that the brand new CTL2Go N3?

How is the CTL2Go N3 different from my 2goPC?
Mine has held up well, I never have worked with the hand writing recognition.

It's a little thinner, faster and better battery life.

Since we are talking about the CTL 2goPC N3, I will ask another question. I use it as a tablet onsite to collect data. Occasionally, one of my statements in the selection boxes or damage boxes starts flashing. It is typically the top selection or the bottom selection. If I go to another tab, the flashing selection gets selected or not selected depending on the status of its flashing at the time that I leave that tab. The flashing selections happen at any tab that I go to. I can choose other statements in those boxes and that works. The only remedy appears to be rebooting the PC. Then, I have to go back and make sure things are not selected that I did not want selected. Any ideas? Does this happen on the older CTLs? Is it a HIP or CTL problem or both? Thanks.

Sounds like it's possibly a mouse drive issue. Are you in tablet mode when this happens and using a stylus or are you using the keyboard?

Is it possible your hand resting on the tablet is affecting it in some way? Does it ever happen if you're not in tablet mode?
