I am using the Macy merge in 3.1.5.  If I use it to join two comments into one, it is adding a period at the end of the 1st comment.  My comments have periods at the end in case I need to use them individually.  Thus, when I merge the comments, I then have to edit the result .  Has it always added a period?  Does it have to?  Thanks.

Hi Eric,

There's 3 parts to the Macy Merge.

CTRL-CLICK: Add a comma after all narratives merged
SHIFT-CLICK: Adds a period after all narratives merged
ALT-CLICK: Adds a space after all narratives merged
