Also Gas pipe needs to be painted Grey for identification, and the joints do not have dope/yellow tape but rather white tape which is not exterior grade, it is for interior water connections. Exterior should be dope( mastic) and have at least 1/16 inch roll at the end of the pipe fitting to ensure the dope has sealed the joint.
The strapping connecting the Vent piping needs further investgation, if in fact they did the main floor hook up, the may have used the vent stack as grounding, seen it before and now its grounded to the gas pipe by way of banding.

That's a good point.  Grounding, something we cant see, and a big no no.
