I am new to HIP, and switching from a report most of you don't know, TWI. I want the finial print out to be very similar, no check boxes, very narrative, separate summary page with photos. Does anyone have a template like this? I am still using TWI, but starting to learn HIP on my free time (not much, but trying) Also, do you guys put in the data and photos as you go?
And, I am in AZ, and our reporting system had some boiler plate and items for AZ. Those I could probaly put in later, but want a starting point.
I am attaching a sample full report and summary report.

* Sample Summary Report.pdf (665.78 KB - downloaded 54 times.)

John, ALL of the templates can be like this.

1. Report Settings->Ratings and turn off ratings/check boxes.
2. Under each section go to Edit Comments and you can turn off the item numbers under Item Description (this is exactly what Scott Patterson does who just posted his template.

Look over the 2 dozen templates shared in this section but other inspectors. The 1st post explains how to load them, the second has a list of all of them! Guys share their HIP templates freely which is one of the best parts of our site!

I don't think it is possible to have photos in the summary.  Dom?

Not right now, but guys will put the summary at the end and use the end of report setting to put pics right after. A photo within summary feature will be coming soon though.

So pictures can be printed after the summary but documents cannot?  Hmm.  Put the cookies down and back to your computer.  PDF files after the summary.   Did you find anything on those files I sent you?

Yeah, it just looks like the image quality has been dragged down a tad. I'm going to look into the image resize method a bit more.

Best quality I have found is the 2 pic reporting method.
My 2 cents!

Yeah I like the 2 pics better than 3 across. But to each their own!

I agree Greg..I only use 2 pics across. It appears more balanced to the "eye".  Personally- I wont put pictures in the summary.  Dominic's summary style is already well laid out with page/item numbers referenced.

Then again..I don't like restaurant menu's with 12pages. Keep it down to 2 or 4 pages and don't show the same entree's over and over.

Believe it or not...I ran across 3 inspectors this year still doing checklist reports by hand and giving them to cleints at the end of the inspection. Have fun faxing too! Fresh business for me to go after:)

Hey Dan.  Who were the inspectors.  I still have a bunch of the old ITA Matrix forms I would love to sell to some caveman.   Grin

Stephen...I was quite surprised.  One of my "A" agents I worked with informed me.  The client had their own inspector, so I ended up out of the loop. The guy has been inspecting along time (15 + years).  The 2nd guy also has 15 + years, and was wonder why his business was down.

I would never place pictures in the summery either as they want to print a easy version of the giant report I create there.

We have more and more guys switching from 3D and HomeGauge which have this feature and guys have become accustomed to it. So I'm to go ahead and add it in as an option. Though, I agree. I've seen some 10+ page summaries when photos are included, but everyone gets to style HIP the way they want. That's the beauty of it, flexibility!

Heck Dom,  I have been hitting 10 pages in the summary WITHOUT pictures.  It has been a great month but many bulldozer inspections.
