I've been looking into roof certification as a way to make an up charge plus it would be more convenient for the client (don't have to call another person). From everything I've discovered there is no specific form or laws requiring a specific type of licensing by the inspector. It appears that a roof cert is just the opinion of a roofing company along with their guarantee that the roof would get fixed if it fails. Have any of you explored this idea of issuing roof certs?

I'm guessing half of you have just fallen down saying; "The liability, the liability...do have both oars in the water?" I get that and would do my due diligence. This is just a brain storm to see if it is even worth the time to invest in a bit more.

I don't think their is a form in Oregon. Florida does have a state form.

Roof certs are not warranties or guarantees.  It does not mean that leaks will get fixed.  It is just an opinion of projected life.  Since you are in Oregon, I would check with your Construction Contractors Board for possible licenses you might need.
