Have you guys ever seen insulation put on an HVAC exhaust vent pipe?  Is this a legit product or a major fire hazard?

Looks like 'deteriorated' encapsulated fiberglass. Recommend replacing with proper insulation, or installing bvent due to clearance to combustibles issue.

Okay, I wanted to error on the side of safety and called it as a fire safety issue and recommended the whole system be checked by a lic pro.  There were some other issues with the unit too.  Guess I will know for next time.  Thanks
