I'm looking for a touch screen lap top and saw the Dell "inspiron duo tablet pc net book". I need some thing that I can do every thing on like I do with my lap top now but I want to add the touch screen and mobile networking in. Does any one have experiance with these?

Cool machines that you can definitely do inspections on and browse the Internet. I wouldn't make them your main machine as they just aren't quite strong enough.

Dom, What do you mean "not strong enough"? Are you talking about not able to take abuse or that they just don't last to well? Right now I'm using an HP pavilion lap top that's like 6 years old. I got it factory refurbed off ebay for like 1/3 the going price at the time. The only thing wrong with it is it's alittle slow and running out of space.
What would you think about this one: HP TM2T~1.6GHZ~512MB HD5450~TOUCHSCREEN 12.1"~TABLET PC 4GB DDR3/500GB/WIFI BGN/BTOOTH/FP READER//WIN 7 HOME 64

Hmm, you just listed two separate tablets. What's the name of the second?

DELL is horrible. System crash and their built in help is DataSafe. OK, used DataSafe for a full system backup. Only problem? If you didn't pay for their PREMIUM DataSafe backup BEFORE you did the full system backup, it doesnt save any of your files. But they don't tell you that. Still waiting, 6 weeks after paying for premium, for the activation code. Seems the department that runs DataSafe doesn't think the computer reference number is any good. Even though it was a Dell tech that took over the computer and retrieved the reference number. These guys don't know their ass from a hole in the ground.
Crappy foreign customer service with accents so strong you can't understand them. Hours on the phone and no help.
STAY AWAY FROM DELL !!!!!

Dom, No that's only one, the second half is the specs that were posted. Every thing from touch screen on. This particular one is from an E-bay add but I'm only using that as an example to show the model.

Steve, Thanks for the heads up on that. I haven't delt with them since Compaq was a seperate company.

Dell is separate. Compaq is part of HP.

Not a bad tablet Larry but most inspectors have told me that a 12" screen is just too much to carry around.

What would you say about that dell if it was $250.
I'm used to working from a 15" screen now so I don't think 12" would be a problem. I think weight would matter more to me than screen size.

Larry, that's what I mean. The 12" tend to be quite a bit heavier. At $250 though, go for it.
