O.k., just to let every MAC user out there know, I upgraded to MAC OS Lion and it did not effect HIP.  HIP runs perfectly with it.  When I first fired up HIP under MAC OS Lion, it wanted to update to the latest java.  Once this was done (automatically) the HIP worked perfectly. Wink

Uh Oh, I think that MAC OS Lion might have did me in last night.  I was going along doing a report last night and uploaded my report.  100% success!! I printed out the pdf for mailing to the client (i do both).  So, this morning my client informs me that she cannot see the report thru the generated link by Dom's server. Hmmm, I go into HIP APP and open the report....data is there, great!! BUT!!! the photos and their captions are gone...whoops.  So I tried to open the pdf from the client reports that are in the app and it says 0kb and some error that the file is unreadable and corrupt.  Man, by now I am running around like an idiot trying to figure how to get a 1 hour report recreated in 10 minutes.  I then remembered that I did print out the report...racing to the printer..it is there.  O.K. now I need to travel to the client and hand deliver the report to her.  Then, I thought, let's try restoring the pdf from time machine(you MAC users know what I am talking about).  I was able to restore it and I attached it to an email to my client.  She can open it and read it...phew, that fire is put out!  Now back to the problem.  I restored the client data file from time machine and that didn't work..it is corrupt.  I then restored a copy of the entire app and that didn't work.  So, I wonder what happened to my report client data and report??  I have a sneaky feeling that LION had something to do about it.  Maybe I need to run HIP on Snow Leopard again...at least I did not delete that OS...I was smart...12 years in the IT world gives one the feeling that you ALWAYS need a "back door" in that business... Huh Roll Eyes Cry

Hi Robert,

That has nothing to do with Lion. You just came across the photo bug that's been around a few years and just recently solved. See http://www.homeinspectorpro.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=183&jfile=index.php&topic=3606.0 for more info and a workaround. Glad you had timemachine on. This has already been fixed in 3.0 which will shortly be released for Mac.

Boy, I am glad that it wasn't LION.  I read the link, but I had already closed the program so it appears that I will not be able restore the photos.  Is there a way to upload the generated report pdf so that it is on the server?  Would the client links work then?  I have a good pdf of the report, but have no way to get it up to the server.

Im not sure if I ever made the separate PDF upload program available on Mac now that I think about it! On Windows there's a program installed with HIP called PDF Report Upload. I think you said you dual boot so go ahead and just use that for now.
